A Goal Without a Plan is Simply a Dream

Summit 54 is an organization that seeks to support and collaborate with existing programs benefiting academically motivated students who lack the school, home or financial situations to help them attend and graduate from college. We strive to bring together, facilitate and augment all not-for-profit resources in and outside the state of Colorado to help turn dreams into realities.
Summit 54 works in close partnerships with local schools, teachers and community organizations to help identify the students who might benefit the most from our assistance. A majority of the students that are selected will be the first in their families to attend and graduate from college. Our end goal is to better our participants’ futures – ultimately leading to a more highly skilled workforce, less poverty and stronger, more dynamic communities in Colorado.

Summit 54: Where Success is Learned and Earned
For many of our students, the idea of attending college is a huge goal. And achieving big goals requires a lot of long hours, dedication and hard work. That is exactly the philosophy Summit 54 was founded on. Nothing will be handed to our participants. Every student will have to work hard and put in countless long hours to earn each and every opportunity presented to them. We want our students to learn that the best rewards in life come through working hard and earning everything you get.
The Colorado Crisis
Colorado ranks in the top five states nationwide for the greatest number of degree holders per capita. Yet only one in five of the state’s ninth-grade students go on to earn a college degree. Many economic and education experts believe that increasing the number of college graduates in Colorado may be the most critical factor to ensuring a prosperous future for the state.
Summit 54, College Track & The Colorado Initiative
To start improving this inauspicious statistic, Summit 54 partnered with College Track in 2011 to help create our inaugural Colorado initiative. College Track’s rigorous approach has generated some impressive results since their inception in 1997. Nearly 100% of their students have graduated from high school and over 90% are attending or have graduated from college. For those that complete College Track, Summit 54 is committed to helping facilitate their college financing and ensure their hard work is rewarded.
Summit 54 believes the proven College Track approach will benefit Colorado students and provide similar results in our home state. To that end, nearly 60 students from Rangeview High School in the city of Aurora began participating in Colorado’s first College Track in 2011. Each year, we expect to add an additional 60 students so that, eventually, our center will support up to 200 high school and 200 college students. As resources allow, Summit 54 also expects to continue partnering with College Track and similar programs to benefit more students at more schools in the upcoming years.
